Zion Counseling is an addiction recovery organization headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, that is registered with the State of Colorado as a Limited Liability Company.  We are accessible through online/Zoom courses mainly, with in person/individual sessions being offered on a limited and select basis in the Colorado Springs area only.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission at Zion Counseling is to strive to overcome addiction and alcoholism through rigorous individual and group counseling and therapy utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities as we believe addiction to substances of abuse can and will be overcome. At Zion, we believe that sobriety and recovery from the damages of addiction and alcoholism can be overcome.

We treat substance abuse with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Reality Therapy and other evidence based therapeutic interventions. We also believe in the utilization of 12 Step groups as a sober social support to further enhance sobriety and recovery for our clients. As you know, addiction and alcoholism is not an easy problem to overcome. Zion Counseling will share and provide you with all the help you need to overcome this devastating disease.

As you probably realize, alcohol, cocaine, meth, opiates and marijuana are the most dangerous substances used by persons with substance use disorders. These drugs have had a devastating effect on our community. You can become abstinent from these dangerous drugs and put on a course of recovery mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually as many people in our community have done so and you can as well.         

We also offer Tele-health and on-line counseling on an outpatient basis through Zoom. Therefore, if you have transportation issues, you can attend our group sessions as well as individual counseling sessions on your phone or laptop. We offer Outpatient treatment, Outpatient treatment programming and Aftercare Planning.

We have a Licensed Addiction Counselor in Colorado, with over 18 years of experience in the addiction field with a willingness to help you achieve your goals of being free from the debilitating effects of this disease.

DISCLOSURE STATEMENT

I am presently a Licensed Addiction Counselor in the State of Colorado. I have a clinical Master’s degree and have over 4,000 hours of supervised experience in addiction counseling.

MY QUALIFICATIONS

            In 2018, I received a Master’s degree of Science in Addiction Counseling from Mid-America Christian Counseling in Oklahoma City, Ok. I also received a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) Certificate in Oklahoma # 292 in 2006 and have worked as such in Oklahoma since then. I am currently a member of NAADAC and CAAP since last year in the State of Colorado. I received my licensure as an Addiction Therapist in 2023 in the State of Colorado.

LICENSURE

            I am currently licensed in the State of Colorado as a Licensed Addiction Counselor.

COUNSELING BACKGROUND

            My counseling background experience is long and diverse from 2005 until 2023 presently. While obtaining my supervision hours for my CADC I worked with juveniles and adults as well as working on my licensure as an LAC from 2018 to 2023. I worked at The Referral Center in Oklahoma City as an Outpatient Counselor in 2005-06, as an HIV/AIDS Outreach Counselor/ Drug Court Addictions Counselor in OKC, OK. with Turning Point – Community Action Agency in 2006-07, as a Substance Abuse Counselor at The Lighthouse Counseling Ctr. from 2006-09, as a Methadone Counselor at Behavioral Health Group in OKC,OK from 2011-12, as a Substance Abuse Counselor Intern at Omega Plans in OKC, OK from 2013-15, as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor in OKC, OK. from 2016-18 with Day By Day Counseling , as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor/Mental Health (under supervision) at Counseling Solutions & Interventions, Inc. in OKC, OK. from 2018-21, as a Group Facilitator for Addictions at Landmark Recovery in OKC, OK. in 2021. I moved to Colorado Springs, CO. in November of 2021 and worked with Mountain Springs Recovery from 2021-22. I have worked at various other addictions counseling agencies in Colorado in 2022 and in September of 2023. I have been working with A Good Life Counseling as a Group Facilitator/Addictions Counselor working with DUI/DWAI clients on-line until the present 2023.
